1. Useful tips
Tips for getting the most out of your Tankkd outdoor hot tub:
- Please review the safety and warning information before using your outdoor hot tub.
- Use less chlorine to make your outdoor hot tub last longer. Do not put chlorine tablets directly into the water. – use a special dispenser.
- Provide shade to keep the water cool and your skin from burning.
- Create a pleasant environment: add lights, plants, comfortable pillows or music.
- Cover your outdoor tub to keep out debris and leaves.
- You can't urinate in the outdoor bath. This can cause harmful chemical reactions.
- Set the pump to run for 8 hours a day to ensure water circulation.
- Use sunscreen or a wide-brimmed hat.
- Before getting into the bath, wash and dry your feet.
- Do not use "shock" cleaners - they can damage the metal surface.
- It is not recommended to use rain or well water due to its low pH.
2. Does the outdoor tub overheat in the summer?
Usually not. The metal surface does not get hot enough to be uncomfortable. We recommend keeping the outdoor tub in partial shade. You can also use protective floats for the edges.
3. What to do with an outdoor bath in winter?
Should I leave the water?
It is best to leave the water and ensure circulation. – this reduces the risk of rust.
Less chlorine is needed during the cold season (1 tablet every 2-4 weeks).
In frosty weather, keep the pump on to prevent the water from freezing.
If you choose to empty the tub (not recommended), cover it to protect it from rust.
4. How to maintain an outdoor bathtub?
Winter care
- In case of light frost (1-2 days):
- Turn on the pump to ensure circulation.
- Insulate the pump and hoses with blankets.
- In case of severe frost (longer than 2 days):
- Disconnect the pump, open the valves to drain the water.
- Keep the pump in a warm place.
How to maintain an outdoor bathtub?
- Use minimal chlorine (2-3 tablets every 2 weeks).
- Check pH and chlorine levels regularly.
- Clean the inside with a soft brush from time to time.
- It is recommended to change the filter sand every 4-5 years or use special Polyshershere granules.
- Clean the pump basket regularly to prevent clogging.
Metal surface care
- It is recommended to completely change the water 3 times a year.
- Avoid excess chemicals to avoid damaging the galvanized surface.
Maintaining water balance
- The pH can be raised using baking soda (1/4–1/2 cup).
- Do not use shock cleaners, acid or algaecidesas they may damage the metal surface.
5. What is galvanized steel?
Galvanizing is a method that uses an electric current to coat an object with a layer of metal.
In this way, for example, an iron plate can be coated with a layer of zinc, nickel, or chromium to make it more resistant to corrosion and to give it a more beautiful shine.
6. What to do if violations occur?
Damage can be easily refinished with zinc paint, which automatically matches the same color and is commercially available.
Zinc paint forms a quick-drying, self-healing, flexible layer that helps prevent rust.
7. How to use a heating coil correctly and safely?
1. The water return pipe must always be below the water level.
Make sure that the return pipe of the heating coil is always below the water line. If the water level drops (e.g. when people leave the bath), the water in the coil can overheat and cause burns or a risk of steam.
2. Do not obstruct the water flow to/from the coil.
Never block the water flow using valves or other devices. This can interfere with the natural circulation of water.
3. The spiral must be maintained constantly.
Monitor the coil when it is in use or cooling down, especially if there are children or animals nearby.
4. Avoid blockages and flammable materials.
Make sure there are no obstructions or flammable materials around the spiral that could cause a fire.
5. If you hear a sound or the water is not circulating properly, put out the fire immediately.
If the water is too hot, does not flow properly, or you hear a loud noise, turn off the heat immediately. This indicates that the thermosyphon effect is not working properly and can be dangerous.
6. Avoid air bubbles in the spiral.
Minimize leaks to prevent air bubbles from entering the coil. If bubbles build up, you can gently shake the hose to remove them.
7. Ensure stability and safety.
Make sure the spiral is stable and will not be damaged or fall over. Plan to keep any flammable materials away from the spiral.
8. Do not use wet or uncut firewood.
Use only dry firewood. Wet firewood can cause condensation and damage the spiral.
